We’ll cover practical needs, including function, materials, finishes, space, and key dimensions.

Afterwards, I’ll document our discussion and share a brief for your approval, ensuring clarity before moving forward.

This is where ideas start to come alive. I’ll draw inspiration from your space, focusing on the style and aesthetic of your home or environment. My aim is to create a piece that complements what’s already there while incorporating my unique design language. 

I then explore the concept further by working on initial sketches, testing finishes, or creating material samples. This phase is all about refining ideas and ensuring we’re on the right track. 

Once the inspiration has been refined, I finalise the details of the design. This includes defining the overall look, dimensions, finishes, and any specific features. 

I use a variety of methods to communicate the design clearly, including hand-drawn sketches, CAD drawings, and material samples. This ensures you have a complete understanding of the piece before we move ahead. 

The sign-off stage is a key milestone. Together, we’ll review and confirm the final design, ensuring that everything aligns with your expectations and vision. 

This is also an opportunity to clarify any last details. While I can accommodate changes after this point, it’s important to set a clear foundation that both you and I can work from as the project progresses. 

Here’s the exciting part - bringing the design to life. I begin by sourcing the finest materials and processing them to prepare for crafting. In the workshop, I take great care to ensure every detail of your bespoke piece is perfect. 

This stage involves everything from planing and joining the wood, to shaping, sanding, and finishing. Every step is carefully executed to turn the vision into a piece of furniture that’s both functional and beautiful. 

The final step is delivering the piece to its new home. Whenever possible, I personally deliver the finished work, allowing me to hand it over in person and walk you through its features and craftsmanship. 

For clients further afield, I ensure the piece is securely crated and delivered safely, ready to be placed in your space. Every aspect of the delivery process is handled with care to ensure you are satisfied.
